Meet Gülnisa

My job role is split. On one side, as a senior member of the Corporate/M&A Department, I advise clients on general corporate matters as well as participating in mergers and acquisitions. I have been involved in transactions across a broad range of industry sectors, including energy, textiles, food and beverages and automotives, and have gained extensive experience in projects work concerning various mergers, acquisitions and privatisations, the real estate market, transfers of businesses, project finance, the incorporations of banks and capital markets related matters.

On the other side I also lead the Employment practice at Pekin & Pekin, providing employment law advice on a wide range of matters to corporate clients including banks, financial institutions and industrial companies. As the lead of the Employment practice, I am involved in the drafting of employment contracts, preparing working hours schemes and remuneration systems, and acting as a consultant on corporate acquisitions and restructurings, including the implementation of the employment law due diligence process and negotiating post-merger reconcilements of interests and redundancy schemes.

This area of law has grown to be of particular interest to me and I have been given scope by the Firm to develop myself professionally in order to achieve my goals. For example, in 2006 I was admitted to the Lex Mundi Institute Cross Border Program Labour and Employment Law and Practice by the Board of Directors of Lex Mundi. This has exposed me to the importance of employment law in cross-border transactions and has given me the chance to share my experiences and expertise with other Lex Mundi members. In return I am given access to the knowledge of these members. Together we work on implementing new best practice initiatives in the area and pool resources to meet our clients’ expectations.
