Date: 15 February 2010 Pekin & Pekin was honoured at Project Finance's Deals of the Year ceremony in London for its role in the metals deal MMK. The deal involved the hybrid corporate/project financing for the construction of a USD1.7bn steel manufacturing complex on two sites in Turkey. Considered that the deal was one of the biggest in the market for the year, the structural innovation employed and the ability to secure funding at a time of financial uncertainty, the deal was a clear winner for European Metals Deal of the Year 2009.
