Date: 18 June 2012 Pekin & Pekin retained the "Gold" Turkish Law Firm of the Year award at the International Legal Alliance Summit and Awards in Paris, beating off competition from Turkey's leading law firms. Key deals swaying the judges included acting for Aeroports De Paris in its recent acquisition of stakes in Turkish airport sector companies TAV Havalimanları Holding A.Ş. and TAV Yatırım Holding A.Ş. (38% of TAV Havalimanları's issued share capital for USD874mn and 49% of TAV Yatırım's issued share capital for USD49mn) - resulting in one of the largest airport alliances in the world and managing either directly or indirectly approximately 180mn passengers in 37 airports. Additional deals of interest not disclosed due to confidentiality included the acquisitions of energy, defence, pharmaceuticals and agribusiness assets, and the financing of energy acquisitions in Turkey. The award follows Pekin & Pekin's winning International Financial Law Review's Turkish Law Firm of the Year 2012 for the third time in its six-year history.
