Erenalp Rençber, a senior associate of Corporate and M&A team of Pekin & Pekin led the “Employment Law in Turkey” seminar provided by “JSB Seminars” in London on December 12, 2014.
In this seminar, the general principles of Turkish employment law, new trends and developments, the employment culture, traditions and customs such as cultural differences in business practice were examined in order for the participants to gain a basic understanding of Turkish employment law. Additionally, recruitment issues such as pre-employment checks, offers of employment, work and residency permits were also clarified. Another substantial issue about employment law is the employment relationship and employee relations. The relevant provisions of Turkish Labour Law related to the typical employment arrangements, drafting terms and conditions of employment contracts, fixed term contracts, remuneration and benefits, working time, holiday and sick pay, collective bargaining, equality and diversity, discrimination and harassment, discipline and grievances, key employment issues during transfers of business and termination of employment such as grounds for dismissal and dismissal rights were explained and analysed.
