Communiqué No.2006/1 on Maximum Interest Rates to be Imposed on Credit Card Transactions was amended on 23 September 2010 to be effective as of 1 October 2010. According to the amendment, the monthly maximum contractual rate has been reduced to 2.44% and the default interest rate to 2.94% for Turkish lira.
