In the second quarter, the Capital Markets Board (“CMB”) continued its efforts on the introduction of incentive-like provisions encouraging private companies to become public.

Vedat Akgiray, the president of the CMB, was elected as the Emerging Markets Committee President at the International Organization of Securities Commission (IOSCO). Moreover, the CMB has recently announced that it has begun to revise its Corporate Governance Principles in order to harmonize them with the latest EU legislations and recent financial developments.
