The Regulation Regarding the Implementation of the Law Regarding Work Permits for Foreigners was amended on 21 January 2010. The system is now based on declarations and statements made by the applicant in the application form, rather than requesting documents with the application. Accordingly, work permit application processes have been shortened.  Furthermore, the evaluation and conclusion period of work permit applications has been significantly decreased. For applications from abroad, the prescribed period for the employer’s submission of the application papers to the Ministry has been increased. Pursuant to the amendment, it is now possible for applications to be made electronically and crucially the Ministry’s discretion to request additional documents has been terminated.
