The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation Commercial Regulation (published in the Official Gazette dated 17 April 1993 and numbered 21555) has been amended (effective as of 31 January 2009), to include the following provision:
"Television channels broadcasting in different languages and dialects are allowed to broadcast commercials in such languages and dialects. Such commercials can only be broadcasted on those television channels."
